  • Annual Turnover: It should satisfy the defined annual turnover thresholds according to MSME classification (Micro, Small, Medium). Again, these limits are variable and defined by the government. 
  • Valid PAN & Aadhaar: Valid PAN card and Aadhaar issued to the owner/authorized signatory/partners/directors are mandatory.
  • No Other Registrations: Should not be registered under any other similar scheme.
  • Compliance with the Norms of the Government: Must comply with any other relevant government rules and regulations.

What is nsic registration?

Nsic registration is a Government of India Scheme for the promotion and support of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.( MSMEs). It is registration under the Single Point Registration Scheme (SPRS) by NSIC.

Purpose of NSIC Registration: The registration bestows benefits and privileges for MSMEs that participate in Government tenders and procurements. It acts as a certification that establishes the MSME’s quality standards as well as its ability to execute a Government order.

Document required for msme online registration

  • Aadhaar Number: This is very important. This would be required by the Proprietor (after Operation), Partner (after Partnership), or as signature by the officer (after Company/LLP).
  • Inhabitants Identify Applicant Name: Based on Aadhaar Card.
  • Social Category: General/SC/ST/OBC
  • Enterprise Name: This is the official name of the enterprise.
  • PAN Number: Permanent Account Number mandatory.
  • Office Address of the Enterprise: With state, district, pin code.
  • Mobile Number: This mobile number can be used to receive OTP.
  • Email ID: A working email ID for correspondence with you.
  • Bank Details: Bank Account Number along with the IFSC Code.
  • Major Activity: Whether it is a manufacturing or service enterprise.
  • No. of Employees: Total number of employees in the enterprise.
  • Turnover: Turnover for the Last Financial Year. Self-declared turnover.
  • Investment in Plant & Machinery/Equipment: Self-declared investment amount.
  • NIC Code: National Industrial Classification (NIC) code of your business activities. (You can choose from the list in the portal.)
  • Date of Incorporation/Registration: The date on which the business was formally established.

Process for msme online registration

  • Apply Online: Visit the official Udyam Registration portal (udyamregistration.gov.in) for online application. Beware of fake sites! 
  • Aadhar Required: Aadhar Number is compulsory (individual for proprietorship, authorized person for other types).
  •  Information Typing: Enter your business details, namely: details of owner/authorized person, bank account, and other required information. Aadhaar and other details are verified. 
  • Udyam Registration Certificate : This would be electronically generated and issued following successful registration and would require downloading and saving. 
  • Permanent Validity : Udyam Registration is permanently valid (unless cancelled). 
  • Update if necessary: Update your details on the portal if there are significant changes in your business.
