The certification process, step by step

The process runs through the BEE online portal in two stages: company registration first, then model registration after lab testing. The path applies to manufacturers, importers and traders who want to participate in the scheme.

Company registration

Register on the portal
Complete company registration on the BEE online portal, providing essential documents and details such as ISO 9001, Trademark, COI and an Authorisation letter.
Submit hard copies
Submit hardcopy originals of these documents to the Bureau of Energy office along with the applicable fee.
Pay the fee
Fees depend on the size of the business: INR 1,00,000 for large-scale industries or INR 25,000 for MSMEs.
Receive credentials
On approval, applicants receive portal login credentials by email to proceed with model registration.

Get the product tested
Test the product at an NABL-accredited or ILAC MRA lab. The report must meet BEE standards, cover all testing parameters and be within 90 days before applying.
Upload documents
Upload the mandatory documents in the specified format, the test report (not older than 90 days) and a sample label on the BEE portal.
Pay the model fee
A fee of INR 2000 is payable to the bureau for model registration.
Scrutiny and grant
